Westshore Terminals is Canada’s premier coal export terminal and the busiest in all of North America. Situated at Roberts Bank in Delta, B.C., the terminal began operations in 1970 and has shipped over 625 million tonnes of coal since then. In 2010, Westshore completed a $49 million equipment upgrade which moved its nominal design capacity from 24 to 29 million tonnes a year. The terminal has about 200 full-time employees and runs 24 hours a day, most days of the year.
